VISAKHAPATNAM: In a shocking incident, a man and his son allegedly raped two minor girls in a village under Atchutapuram police station limits in Vizag district.
Though the incident took place on Sunday evening, it came to light on Tuesday when the parents of the victims lodged the police complaint.
The police said that 27-year-old M Nookalu became friends with some minor girls in the guise of train them in Kabaddi sport. Nookalu’s father Bapaiah (50) also close with few girls when his son was training the girls in the sport.
On Sunday evening when the girls were playing the sport, Nookalu took a 9-year-old-girl to nearby farm-fields and raped her. Similarly, Nookalu’s father also raped another girl near home.
The minor girls narrated the entire episode to their parents on Monday. Based on the complaint from the victims’ parents, Sub-Inspector of Police, Atchutapuram, M Upendra registered a case against the father and son under Section 376 and 506 of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012.
The victim girls were shifted to the government hospital for medical tests. The police have formed a team to nab the accused persons who have been absconding.
