Give online economically weaker section certificate facility, Delhi BJP demands | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Leader of opposition in Delhi assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Tuesday said people belonging to the general category are unable to get Economically Weaker Section certificate online in the capital and it has left many hassled.
“Many people, especially the youths have met me over the issue and are disappointed. The central government amended the Constitution in 2019 to give 10 percent reservation to the poor belonging to the upper castes on economic ground. It appears that the AAP government does not want to give the benefit of this reservation to people of this category. I request chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to start online facility of issuing certificates for this category,” Bidhuri said in a statement.
The BJP leader added that without certificates the youth of this category are neither able to take advantage of reservation in jobs, nor in admission in schools and colleges, nor in any other welfare scheme.
Bidhuri said he will call upon LG Anil Baijal over the issue if the AAP government does not start issuing EWS certificates online
