Self Help Groups’ loans will be waived, women’s welfare key in DMK regime: MK Stalin | Coimbatore News – Times of India

COIMBATORE: DMK president MK Stalin said the party will waive the loans of Self Help Groups (SHGs) availed from the Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) when the party comes to power. He added that the SHGs will also be revived by the DMK government.
Stalin said if the victims dont get justice from the CBI in connection with the Pollachi sexual assault case, the DMK will take stringent action in a way the AIADMK members involved in the case cannot escape. “The accused cannot escape either from the rule of law or Stalin’s hands,” he added.
The DMK chief was addressing the party cadres at the ‘Ungal Thoguthiyil Stalin’ (Stalin in your constituency) event at Achipatti in Pollachi on Saturday.
“AIADMK denied the involvement of their party cadres in the Pollachi sexual assault case. While being questioned about the case by the media, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had asked them to produce evidence for AIADMK’s involvement in the case. However, CBI arrested AIADMK cadres. How can the ruling party give advertisements about protection of women in the state?” said Stalin.
He also added that some of the AIADMK functionaries have been escaping from the Pollachi sexual assault case by using their powers.
He said that as many as 13 people who protested against the Sterlite company ,were shot dead by AIADMK government. Anitha and few students ended their lives due to NEET examination. A woman from Chennai died of AIADMK’s banner culture and another woman lost her leg in Coimbatore. The ruling government also attacked the women who protested against the Tasmac outlet. Physically-challenged women, teachers and students, who protested for their rights, were assaulted by the state. The state government took revenge against the women in all sectors, he said.
“The state government failed to help the SHGs for its development and failed to provide loans for them. There were no special schemes for women’s development. I doubt if Palaniswami is showing on women the anger he has against the former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and her close aide VK Sasikala,” said Stalin.
“The state government had given tears and difficulties to the women. But this government is claiming that it is respecting the women,” said Stalin.
“Once DMK comes to power, the DMK government will give special focus on the women and children’s welfare and will announce numerous schemes for them,” he said.
“The SHG’s loans availed from the Primary Agriculture Credit Society will be waived when DMK comes to power,” added Stalin.
