HYDERABAD: A 48-year-old farmer was bludgeoned to death by his wife with the assistance of her daughter at their house in Bichkoor of Kamareddy district on Thursday. Police said that the accused killed the victim due to property disputes.
The deceased was N Narayana, 48, a farmer from Pochamma Colony in Bhirkoor. According to Bhirkoor SI K Rajesh, the accused are Narayana‘s wife Shanta Bai and their daughter, Jyothy, 26. Police are also verifying the role of Narayana’s son Prasad.
On Thursday morning, villagers alerted police about the murder of Narayana. “Shanta Bai and Jyothy bludgeoned him to death when he was sleeping in front of the house during the early hours of Thursday. We are verifying the role of Prasad,” the SI said.
During the preliminary probe police found out that Narayana had six acres of agricultural land and his family members were asking him to give them a share in the property, for which he did not agree. “Narayana’s daughter Jyothy is a widow. She was asking Narayana to give her one acre of land. Narayana’s wife Shanta Bai was also asking for an acre and he was unwilling to give them any share. Angry with Narayana, the accused killed him,” the SI said.
Police arrested the accused under section 302 of the IPC and the body was shifted for postmortem.
