Uttar Pradesh: Wanted criminal with Rs 1 lakh bounty arrested in Agra | Agra News – Times of India

AGRA: In a major catch, Agra police on Friday night arrested a criminal carrying a cash bounty of Rs 1 lakh from Aligarh district and Rs 20 K from Rajasthan after a brief encounter in the city’s Sikandara area. The suspect reportedly sustained injuries in the shootout and was admitted to a hospital.
According to police, Vinod Kumar, was wanted in case of Kidnapping and ransom in Aligarh’s Iglas police station and in attempt to murder case in Rajasthan. A police team of three police stations— Hariparvat, Sikandra and Sadar police along with a crime branch team successfully arrested the wanted criminal after getting a tip off.
SP (city) Botre Rohan Pramod said that Vinod was reportedly planning to kidnap some businessman from Mathura when he was surrounded by the police party. When challenged, he opened fire and in the encounter that ensued, Vinod suffered bullet injuries in both legs. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Agra’s SSP Muniraj G said that the suspect has a criminal history and was involved in several cases. At least 16 FIRs are registered against him at various police stations in UP and Rajasthan.“One country made pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from his possession and his Crete car has also been seized. He added that the suspect is an active member of Vinod Jaat gang from Hathras and had been jailed several times.
